At first glance, this new SUV seems a bit strange, missing the entire back window. Function is compromised in the name of style. And Polestar’s latest creation oozes style from every corner of it’s taut, sleek, Scandinavian body.

Polestar, the Swedish car manufacturer, is set to launch the Polestar 4 SUV, which will compete with the upcoming Macan EV. The Polestar 4 is technically a compact performance crossover with a sloping rear glass roof design, flush door handles, and a sleek shape. The new design also features no rear glass. The Polestar 4 will come in two options – RWD or AWD. The long-range dual-motor option offering 544HP and 506 lb-ft of torque capable of 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. The long-range single-motor option offers 272HP and 253 lb-ft of torque with over 300 miles of range, although this is subject to change.

Long-range models will feature a 102kWh battery pack with 200kW DC Fast charging, a heat pump, and V2L. The Polestar 4 also features new technology like a range optimization mode and a performance mode. The AWD version comes with a semi-active suspension, while 20-22 inch wheels are on offer. The Polestar 4 measures 190 inches long, with an 118-inch wheelbase, which is similar in size to the Audi Q7.

Safety is a top priority, with nine airbags, 12 cameras, one radar system, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Inside, features a 10.2-inch driver’s display and a 14.7-inch HUD. There’s also a 15.4-inch touchscreen using Android Auto OS, featuring Apple CarPlay and more. Various packs are on offer, such as a Nappa Leather option, Performance Pack, and more.

The Polestar 4 will be available in the US later in 2024 at around $60,000. The new SUV is expected to be a game-changer in the electric vehicle market. It impresses with its unique design, advanced technology, and impressive performance. Polestar is definitely getting its quirk on with this coupe-like SUV, and it will be interesting to see how it fares against the competition.
