Alfa Romeos are a rare sight on American roads and Jay Leno recently had the opportunity to test out a particularly rare one in the shape of the 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo Edition.
The Italian car manufacturer unveiled the model towards the end of 2020 as a tribute to its famed 1967 33 Stradale and is building just 33 examples. Immediately making the 4C Spider 33 Stradale Tributo Edition is the unique tri-coat Rosso Villa d’Este paint, but it has a number of other things going for it, as Leno discovers.
Contrasting the special paint are a set of gray-gold alloy wheels measuring 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear. A handful of exposed carbon fiber accents are also found across the car’s exterior, including the wing mirrors, side skirts, air intakes, and a section of the roof.

The interior is also unique as Alfa Romeo has applied a red finish to the carbon fiber monocoque. The seats are clad in suede and tobacco leather and there is a special model designation on the dashboard.
After getting out onto the open road, Leno notes that the car hadn’t completed its break-in period so he couldn’t engage Sport mode or use all of its power. Nevertheless, he notes that the rear wheels chirp in the first two gears and is a big fan of the steering, which isn’t power-assisted.
Like regular 4C models, the Spider 33 Stradale Tributo Edition is powered by a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 237 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) that’s coupled to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
