The new Genesis GV80 is a luxury SUV that not many (if any) buyers will take off-road, but as this video reveals, it can handle difficult terrain.
This review from YouTuber Asian Petrolhead starts out with a drive on the road, where we already know that it shines. Things get particularly interesting halfway through, when the reviewer heads to an off-road trail and tests out the SUV’s various features.
There are three terrain modes available in the GV80, dubbed Snow, Mud, and Sand. Driving the car in Mud mode automatically enables hill descent control and brings up a display that showcases how much torque is being sent to each wheel, as well as pitch and roll.

Admittedly, the trails driven in this review aren’t exactly what a seasoned off-roader would consider ‘difficult’, but the reviewer does manage to climb up some relatively steep hills along the rock-covered trail. He also does a few small river crossings, again proving that the GV80 isn’t afraid to leave the tarmac.
Flagship Genesis GV80 models come standard with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 delivering 375 hp and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque and are priced from $59,150 in the United States. Customers can also opt for the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that offers up 300 hp and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque and is available from $48,900.
