The 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line will land in U.S. dealerships this month and YouTuber Asian Petrolhead has taken an close look at it. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to drive it but did get the chance to dissect both the exterior and interior of the sporty sedan.

The latest-generation Sonata is quite a looker and the performance-focused N Line variant is even more striking. For example, the front includes a large black grille, distinctive black air intakes and decorative vents on either side of the bumper.

Hyundai has also fitted the car with a unique set of 19-inch wheels, but in Korea, customers can order lightweight, black N Performance wheels, alongside some other N Performance parts like lowering springs, new dampers, upgraded brakes and a carbon fiber lip spoiler. As standard, the Sonata N Line includes beefed-up brakes over lesser models, as well as stiffer rear springs, new shocks and larger stabilizer bars.

Powering the car is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that packs 290 hp and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels. This is the same dual-clutch gearbox as the 2021 Veloster N and i30 N and includes Launch Control and an N Power Shift feature that activates automatically when the car accelerates with more than 90 per cent throttle.

The interior of the car also looks very nice. For example, there are N-branded sports seats clad in soft-touch suede, a digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment system.
