The Lada Niva is probably the last Russian car fit for a lowrider treatment but that’s exactly what some crazy guys did.

Mind you, we’re not talking about a regular lowering kit, hydraulic suspension and flashy wheels accommodated under flared wheel arches. No, this Lada Niva (sold as the 4×4 in Russia) is the lowest Niva in the world, as its makers proudly describe it.

Iling Show is a YouTube channel which documents the building of custom vehicles from derelict cars and for their latest project they chose a Niva off-roader. As you can see in the video, a tremendous amount of work went into transforming the rugged workhorse into a lowrider with virtually no ground clearance.

A large part of the Lada had to be cut and the wheels were pushed upward into the body with the result being that the rear wheels now also play the role of rear passengers. As for the front wheels, they now pierce through the hood, sending a Batman Tumbler kind of vibe.

Most of the engine is now above the hood as well, hot rod-style. Other obvious modifications include the removal of all windows (including the windshield) and the addition of side exhausts in the right front fender.

We wished we understood Russian so we could tell you more about the modifications made to this Lada Niva but we’re counting on those of you who can speak Russian to fill us in with more details in the commentary section.
