The Aston Martin DBX could make or break for the British company. If it proves to be a success, everything will be peachy. If it doesn’t, Aston Martin may have to go back to the drawing board and find another way to make the boatloads of cash it needs for its future models, including no less than three mid-engine supercars and hypercars.
The United States is very likely prove to be the biggest market for the DBX, and Doug DeMuro recently had the opportunity to take an up-close look at the luxurious SUV. Unfortunately, members of the press can’t yet drive the DBX, so this video doesn’t include any impressions from behind the wheel. Nonetheless, it does highlight some of the vehicle’s finest features.

Inside, the DBX is supremely luxurious. One of our favorite aspects of the cabin is the inner sunroof cover that is bathed in Alcantara, like the rest of the headliner. Elsewhere, there is truly stunning leather covering much of the cabin, including the speaker grilles. The seats also appear to be particularly plush thanks to the detailed contrast stitching.
Anyone sitting at the rear of an Aston Martin DBX will find themselves right at home thanks to the presence of heated and cooled functions. Headroom for the second-row also appears to be very good, despite the sleek roofline of the SUV.
Powering the car manufacturer’s first SUV is a Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with 542 HP and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque sending power through all four wheels thanks to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
