For consumers and their shifting tastes and preferences, there will be a little bit of everything to choose from in the new year.

The big appetite for crossovers, SUVs and pickups will be fed with new and redesigned models, while another batch of electrified vehicles, including additional EVs, will enter the marketplace.

Here’s a look at what automakers will be sending to U.S. showrooms throughout 2021.

The luxury brand’s flagship — the MDX — is set to launch in February with an all-new ultrarigid platform, new styling and a redesigned interior.

Production of the Tonale plug-in hybrid compact crossover is slated to begin.

Two limited-run models, the Valkryie and V12 Speedster, will launch in the first half.

A sportback version of the Q5 crossover arrives in the first half. In the second half, the brand will launch two EVs: the Q4 E-tron and E-tron GT.

Bentayga Speed and Bentayga Hybrid variants are set for the first half, while the bespoke Bacalar roadster will arrive later.

Redesigns of the performance M3 sedan and M4 coupe are coming in March.

Now featuring a car-free lineup, the General Motors brand will launch its redesigned Envis- ion compact crossover early in the year.

The CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing performance sedans are coming in summer.

Production of a freshened Bolt and new utility version of the electric nameplate will begin in the summer.

The Silverado full-size pickup, along with its GMC Sierra sibling, gets a freshening with a significant reworking of the interior — adding technology and larger screens — plus minor exterior changes.

Two performance-minded variants arrive early in the year: the Durango SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

The SF90 Stradale plug-in hybrid should arrive in early 2021, while the Portofino M will launch in the summer.

The highly anticipated Bronco SUV, originally set for a spring launch, will instead reach showrooms in summer because of coronavirus-related supplier issues. The high-performance Mach 1 variant of the Mustang will debut in the spring. Later in the year, a small pickup that likely will be called the Maverick should launch.

The Korean luxury brand will launch the GV70 compact crossover and an EV.

A significantly freshened Sierra pickup will get updates in line with the Chevrolet Silverado. GM will likely cap the year with perhaps its flashiest launch: the 2022 GMC Hummer EV. Production of the Edition 1 trim of the electric pickup is set to begin in the fall, which means a late-year arrival is possible.

The year will be headlined by the 11th-generation Civic. It will go on sale in sedan form in the spring as a 2022 model, with the hatchback variant following later. Elsewhere in the lineup, a redesigned HR-V subcompact crossover is expected to debut.

The redesigned 2022 Tucson compact crossover will launch in the second quarter, while the Santa Cruz pickup is expected in the third quarter. Hyundai is using the Ioniq name for a global EV brand, and the Ioniq 5 midsize crossover will launch in the U.S. in fall.

The luxury brand’s newest model, the QX55 coupe-style crossover, is scheduled for a U.S. launch in the spring. The redesigned QX60 midsize crossover should launch in the second half.

The SUV brand’s launches are Fiat Chrysler’s most significant. It’ll start the year with the Wrangler Rubicon 392, giving Jeep fans a Wrangler with a V-8 engine featuring 470 hp and 470 pound-feet of torque. Production of an unnamed three-row utility is set to start in the first quarter. It will be followed by the upscale Grand Wagoneer and its mainstream sibling, the Wagoneer, in the second quarter. Output of the redesigned Grand Cherokee is set to begin in the third quarter.

The brand’s first electric vehicle is expected to debut. A redesigned Sedona minivan is also likely.

The NX compact crossover is due for a redesign in the second half, when it will be moved onto Toyota’s global luxury platform.

The MC20 sports car arrives in early 2021 and the Grecale crossover is due late in the year.

Deliveries of the Artura plug-in hybrid are to begin around May.

The redesigned S-Class will launch in February, while the redesigned Maybach variant will arrive in the middle of the year. The Mercedes-AMG One, a midengine hypercar, is also set to debut. Mercedes will also have a flurry of EV launches, including the EQA, EQB and EQS.

The redesigned Outlander, to be based on Nissan’s new Rogue platform, will go on sale in the first quarter as a 2022 model.

The most interesting Nissan launch of the year, the Ariya EV, happens late in 2021. The Rogue-sized EV will offer up to 300 miles of driving range and is built on a new architecture. Redesigns of the Pathfinder midsize crossover and Frontier midsize pickup are also coming.

The redesigned 911 Turbo arrives early in the year. The freshened Panamera, including the new 4S E-Hybrid variant, will launch in the spring. The Taycan Cross Turismo EV is set to debut in early 2021 and launch later in the year.

2021 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Rivian. If all goes according to plan, Rivian will launch its long-awaited R1T battery-electric pickup and its R1S electric SUV in the summer. The pickup comes first, in June, while the SUV is set to launch in August.

The redesigned 2022 BRZ coupe arrives in fall.

The Cybertruck, an avant-garde behemoth, is set to go into production late in the year. However, given that the plant in Austin, Texas, where the electric truck is to be produced is still under construction, the launch may slip into 2022.

A redesigned 2022 Tundra, due in dealerships in the second half, will mark the full-size pickup’s first redesign since 2007. The Tundra will be redesigned onto the F1 body-on-frame platform, which will allow for some much-needed improvements to safety, electronics and efficiency. A redesign of the low-volume 86 coupe is set to arrive next year and should mirror the updates revealed with the jointly developed Subaru BRZ.

Volkswagen’s lineup will expand in 2021 with the launch of the ID4 EV in the first quarter and the Taos subcompact crossover in the summer. The eighth-generation Golf will launch in the second half, but only in GTI and R trims.

The C40, a sporty electric crossover, should launch in the second half.
