Jay Leno owns some pretty extraordinary cars, and while the C6 Corvette featured in this video is far from his most valuable, it is one of the rarest vehicles in his collection.
What you’re looking at is a Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS that was unveiled at the 2007 SEMA Show with the help of Leno himself. Pratt & Miller runs the Corvette Racing outfit and currently competes with the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R.
In the mid-2000s, it turned to the road-going C6 Corvette Z06 and set about making a road-going version of the C6.R. To do so, it slotted in a massive 8.2-liter V8 that was developed with racing engine expert Katech. This engine had flex-fuel capacity, meaning it could run on E85. It was good for 600 hp and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque, which were very impressive figures for the day.

As Leno explains in this review, just seven examples were ever manufactured and he owns one of them. In addition to the powerful powertrain, the sports car features carbon fiber bodywork and is wider than a standard C6 Corvette. It also sports a computer-controlled suspension that lowers the ride height, BBS centerlock wheels and new Brembo brakes.
Pratt & Miller’s C6RS wasn’t cheap. In fact, buyers had to cough up $185,000 for the upgrades – and that excludes the cost of the donor Corvette Z06. Moreover, not only was it very expensive, but the C6 Corvette ZR1 was launched shortly after, effectively killing any chance of more C6RS models being built.
