A horrific crash was caught by a dashcam on April 10 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In the footage, a third-generation Hyundai Elantra sedan is seen running the red light while speeding and violently smash into a truck crossing the intersection legally. The impact was so strong that it lifted the pickup into the air and most certainly would have overturned it if it weren’t for a Toyota Corolla the truck ricocheted against – and a power pole that brought both vehicles to a halt.
Needless to say, the truck and the cars suffered serious damage, with the drivers of the Hyundai and the pickup (which appears to be a first-generation Nissan Frontier) being seriously hurt as a result.

Both are in critical condition in the hospital. Fortunately, the passengers in the Toyota Corolla walked away, as did those in the Jeep fitted with the dashcam. Their vehicle was the least damaged, with only the front end scrapped by the Toyota.
The big question is obviously why the driver of the Hyundai Elantra ran the ran light, putting both their life and other innocent people’s lives in great danger. It later emerged that the driver of the white Elantra was wanted by the police – though at the time of the crash they were not in pursuit.
According to KJZZ, the driver of the Korean car was suspected of perpetrating an aggravated assault with a knife at Fairmont Park earlier on. The 39-year-old man called Cory Trevort was also wanted on a robbery warrant. He now faces charges of running from police, aggravated assault and robbery.
