There were cheers — and even a few happy tears — during the Automotive News All-Stars ceremony in downtown Detroit last week. We recognized some of the most talented leaders in the automotive industry for their accomplishments over the past year. And like the stars they are, the winners were quick to thank their teams and loved ones for their support.

MARKETING (pictured above): Saad Chehab, Volkswagen’s senior vice president for VW brand marketing, was called the Tom Brady of Super Bowl ads at the ceremony. He’s seen alongside Automotive News Group Publisher KC Crain.

PUBLIC POLICY: Chris Reynolds, Toyota Motor North America’s chief administrative officer, manufacturing and corporate resources, navigated difficult trade issues.

OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE: Joe Hinrichs, Ford Motor Co.’s president for automotive, drives the automaker’s core operations.

DEALER/PRIVATE: Bergstrom Automotive CEO John Bergstrom, left, alongside Gary Silberg of KPMG, is widely respected and benchmarked by his peers.

EMERGING BUSINESS MODEL: May Mobility COO and co-founder Alisyn Malek tackled a number of challenges in the self-driving space.

SUPPLIER INNOVATION: Denso North America CEO Kenichiro Ito is transforming the conservative supplier into a master of mobility.
